Lake Allatoona Now privacy policy
The short version: you don’t need an account, there are no ads, and we don’t track you across other sites.

What we collect
Visit counts. The site is hosted on WordPress.com. Its built-in Jetpack Stats counts page views so we can see what people read. It doesn’t build an ad profile or follow you to other sites. Automattic, which runs WordPress.com, describes what it collects in its privacy policy.
Email. If you email us, we keep your message and address only to reply and handle what you asked, and we delete them sooner if you ask.
That’s all. There are no forms, accounts or shop on this site yet. If we add any, we’ll update this page first.
Live data your browser fetches
To show the lake level, forecast and weather alerts, your browser asks the U.S. Geological Survey (api.waterdata.usgs.gov) and the National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) for public data directly. They see a normal web request from your device, as when you visit any website. We don’t send them anything about you.
Our fonts and photos are served from this site, not from Google or other third parties.
The lake map page loads its map code from cdnjs (Cloudflare) and its map tiles from OpenStreetMap, so those services see a normal request from your browser when you open that page.
What we don’t do
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No selling or sharing of personal data
- No tracking across other websites
Children
This is a general-audience guide to the lake. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
